Connect AI agents to the Notion MCP server and approve page moves first

Agents search, read and draft Notion pages on their own. Moving pages or creating a database waits for a teammate.

Connect Notion's MCP server in four steps

Meandr signs in to Notion once and holds every page move, even one that carries 100 pages, until a teammate approves it.

  1. 01 Sign in

Sign in to Notion's hosted MCP server once

Add Notion's server by its address and sign in with your Notion account.

    • Your agents never see the Notion sign-in
    • Revoke the sign-in from the server's settings
How Meandr signs in to Notion and renews the token
  2. 02 Tools

Switch on the Notion tools the agent needs

The Server catalog lists every Notion tool with a switch of its own.

    • None of the 31 tools switched on here edits or deletes a page
    • Tools you switch off never reach the agent
    How the Server catalog works
  3. 03 Policies

Hold Notion page moves and new databases for a teammate

Three policies name Notion tools, and the first one that matches decides the call.

    • Searching, reading, new pages and comments run on their own
    • Default policy: Deny for every Notion tool no policy names
How priority and the Default policy work
  4. 04 Approve

A teammate approves the page move before Notion sees it

The approvers seated on the policy get the request in-app and by email, and decide on the Tasks page.

    • A denied or expired move never reaches Notion
    • The decision goes on the record next to the call

Questions about the Notion MCP server in Meandr

What happens to the Notion tools no policy names?
The Default policy of Deny refuses every Notion call the three policies don't match.
Can a second agent get read-only access to Notion?
Yes: target the two Notion write policies at the first agent, and the second agent's writes fall to the Default policy of Deny.
Can I use Notion's open-source MCP server instead?
Yes, Meandr can run it from the Docker MCP catalog with a Notion integration token, but its tools have other names, so the policies name those instead.
Why doesn't Claude Desktop show a Notion tool I just switched on?
Claude Desktop keeps the tool list it loaded until you reconnect the connector and open a new chat.
