Meandr Apps

Run apps in a few clicks, and give every workspace their tools

Apps are MCP servers Meandr builds and keeps up to date. Each runs on one of your team's machines, with its data on that machine, and any workspace can use its tools.

No image to build or update. Pick the app, pick a machine, fill in its settings.

  • Your machine, your data

An app runs on one of your team's machines, beside your other servers, and keeps its data there.

  • Tools under your policies

An app appears as a server. Its tools follow the policies, approvals and rate limits of each workspace that uses it.

How it works

From the Apps page to tools in your workspace

Every app runs the same way, from the Apps section of the console.

  1. 1

    Pick an app

Each app lists its version, the memory it needs and recommends, the disk it keeps its data on, and the machine types it runs on.

  2. 2

    Choose a machine

Run it on a machine your team already has, beside its other servers, or order a new one. Meandr shows which machines have room for it.

  3. 3

    Fill in its settings

Name it and give it what it needs, like the repositories for RAG. Keys and other secrets are stored as secrets, not shown again.

  4. 4

    Add it to workspaces

The app appears in your server list. Add it to one workspace or several, and their agents get its tools at the workspace URL.

Once it runs

See what every app is doing

Each app has its own page in the console, with its status, its metrics over the last hour to the last 30 days, and the events it reports.

  • StatusUp to dateOr indexing, with its progress, or failing, with the reason
  • MetricsTokens, passages, searchesCharted per interval, so you can see a re-index or a busy day

Apps or your own server

When to run an app, and when to host your own

Both run on your team's machines and reach agents the same way. The difference is who builds and maintains the server.

Questions about Meandr Apps

What is a Meandr App?
An MCP server that Meandr builds, versions and packages, ready to run on one of your machines. You choose where it runs and fill in its settings; Meandr takes care of the server itself.
Where does an app keep its data?
On the machine it runs on, in the region you picked for that machine. Each app says how much disk it needs before you run it.
Can several workspaces use one app?
Yes. An app is one server for your team. Add it to as many workspaces as you like, and run as many copies of an app as you need, each with its own settings.
What does an app cost?
Apps run on your plan's machines, so the machine is what you pay for. Some apps add usage of their own: Meandr RAG charges for the tokens it embeds and the searches it reranks.
Which agents can use an app's tools?
Any MCP client connected to a workspace that has the app: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, or an agent running in Meandr's cloud.
